What is The HappyNEST?

A living hearth for connection, culture, calm and care.

Inspired by the ancient wisdom of gathering around the fire, The HappyNEST is an ecosystem of soulful experiences where people come together to learn, rest, celebrate, and remember
what it means to feel in peace with your heart.

At the heart of The HappyNEST is one enduring symbol: the hearth.

A sacred circle where people gather, are nourished, and feel at home.

This hearth is the thread that weaves through everything we offer, from Greek Socials and gentle language learning, to family programmes, retreats, and wellbeing experiences rooted in nature, colour, aroma, and culture, we tend a shared flame of warmth, belonging, and renewal.

Each HappyNEST offering carries the same gentle flame, expressed through
its own colours, rhythms, and invitations.

Some gatherings are social and celebratory, others restorative and reflective.

Some are rooted in Greek culture and language, others shaped by nature, travel, and holistic wellbeing.
All are designed to create spaces where people feel held, welcomed, and free to be themselves.

The HappyNEST is not a single event or place.

It is a way of gathering. One hearth. Many expressions. A shared sense of home.

Our Philosophy: From Hearth to Heart

At the centre of The HappyNEST lives a simple truth:
When the hearth is tended, the heart can open.

The hearth represents home, belonging, stability, and community.
The heart represents truth, relationship, emotional harmony, and authentic expression.

The HappyNEST exists where these two meet.

Our work is guided by seven living principles, woven through everything we offer:

Roots – Belonging, ancestry, home, Greekness, grounding
Acceptance – Philoxenia, welcome, safety, inclusion
Introspection – Inner awareness, reflection, knowing oneself
Nurturing – Meraki, care, nourishment with soul
Balance – The Golden Mean, harmony in all things
Openness – Human flourishing, curiosity, connection
Whole-hearted Living – Integrity, generosity, living from the heart

These principles form the RAINBOW arc of The HappyNEST
— a language of colour, emotion and lived experience.

Through story, food, language, reflection, and shared experiences, we create environments that support nervous system regulation, emotional safety, and meaningful connection.

From this grounded place, hearts feel safe, open, and free to live wholeheartedly.

We honour sensitivity, difference, and timing.
There is no pressure to perform, heal, or become anything other than yourself.
Readiness is respected. Growth unfolds gently.

At The HappyNEST, Roots are understood as the many threads that anchor us to life: family and chosen kin, ancestors and elders, land and culture, community and the collective, nature and Mother Earth herself, and the personal and professional identities we grow into over time. Rooted in the spirit of Goddess Hestia, the hearth gathers all these strands, offering belonging without pressure and continuity without rigidity.

A homage to "Roots"
from ChriSOULa Sirigou, The HappyNEST founder

HappyNEST was not planned in the usual way.
It was called for. Quietly. Steadily. Like a flame that waits to be tended.

In Greek mythology, Hestia is the goddess of the hearth, home, and sacred fire. She reminds us that before anything meaningful begins, there must be safety. A centre. A place to return to. But a hearth alone is not enough. A hearth holds us. A heart moves us. And this space lives between the two.

For over three decades, I have lived away from my homeland. Yet I have never lived away from my Greek roots. Language, culture, food, philosophy, the way we gather and share meals have lived in my body, in my voice, and in the work I keep returning to.

Staying connected to Greekness has not been about nostalgia. It has been about keeping my heart open while life asked me to adapt, relocate, and begin again.

As I moved through midlife and menopause, something shifted.

The heart asked to be heard more clearly.

Values became non-negotiable.

Needs became sacred information.

And the burden of living according to other people’s expectations began to fall away.

Roots at this stage of life are not just where we come from. They are what we choose to stand for.

And heart is how we live those roots.

At The HappyNEST, roots are many.
Family, by blood or by choice.
Ancestors and intergenerational healing.
Land, culture, language, and belonging.
Friendship, parea, and community.
Nature, Mother Earth, and the rhythms that regulate us.

But heart is what allows those roots to stay alive.

Heart is generosity.
Heart is emotional harmony and courage.
Heart is passion, purpose, and joy.
Heart is forgiveness, grief, and truth.
Heart is learning to give and receive without fear.
Heart is choosing authenticity, even when it asks us to change.

The HappyNEST is for those who are re-rooting and re-hearting themselves.

For women navigating identity shifts and renewal. For parents and carers carrying quiet burnout.

For those longing to live with more openness, excitement, and integrity.

For anyone seeking a way of being that honours both home and aliveness.

Hestia teaches us how to tend the flame. The heart teaches us how to let it travel.

This is an invitation to both. To be held. And to feel.

The hearth is lit. And the heart is welcome.
