What is The HappyNEST?

The HappyNEST is a community-rooted, creative and therapeutic ecosystem supporting children, parents, carers and educators to cultivate emotional safety, belonging and wholehearted living.

At its heart lives a simple truth:
how we care shapes generations.

Through story, colour, play, sensory awareness and connection, The HappyNEST offers gentle pathways for children and adults to grow together — without pressure, perfection or fixing.

The Lineage: Where this work comes from

This work did not appear overnight.

It has grown over many years through lived experience, education, community leadership and creative stewardship
by ChriSOULa Sirigou
— educator, author, family coach and founder of The HappyNEST.

🌈 THE HAPPYNEST JOURNEY

🌱 THE ROOTS

2018 — Book of Soulful Musings

An award-winning book rooted in Ancient Greek wisdom:

“Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all.” - Aristotle

“Know Thyself.” - Socrates

This work explored:

  • humans as energetic beings
  • body, mind, heart, gut and soul as one living system
  • conversation, colour, words and rhythm as healing tools
  • the power of storytelling and dialogue to restore wholeness

✨ A philosophical hearth was lit.

🎙️ THE VOICE OF THE HEARTH

When conversation became a living practice

Alongside the love for colour and holistic living, this work was nurtured and extended through ChriSOULa's  9-year commitment to radio broadcasting and spoken dialogue, bringing soulful conversations, reflection and storytelling into the public sphere.

Through radio and later podcasting, themes of: emotional awareness
human connection
conscious parenting
creativity and inner listening

were explored out loud, reaching hearts
through and beyond the page. ✨

The hearth found its voice.

This living thread continues today through
The HappyNEST Podcast
— From Hearth to Heart —
where stories, reflections and tools are shared for parents, carers and anyone seeking
wholehearted living.

🧸 THE BIRTH OF THE RAINBOW BEARS

Story guides for our time

The RAINBOW Bears emerged as a response.

Not to fix children —
but to care for children’s hearts and

support the adults who hold them.

Each Bear embodies a theme from the RAINBOW Arc:

  • Roots, Safety & Belonging
  • Acceptance & Love
  • Introspection, Listening Inside
  • Nurture, Care & Connection
  • Balance & Boundaries
  • Oneness & Openness
  • Wholehearted Living

They speak through the HappyNEST Languages:
colour • story • play • aroma • imagination

✨ Gentle companions for children
✨ Bridges between child and adult worlds

🔥 THE FIRST CLARION CALL
When community answered
2019–2021 — RAINBOW Letters to Mother Earth project

In 2019 a clarion call invited children, parents, poets, artists and creatives
to express their feelings through colour, art, words and poetry
— with Mother Earth at the heart of our shared existence.

From this collective response emerged Little Sparks of Joy (2021):

a community-born book shaped by real voices during a time of
global upheaval, uncertainty and emotional need.

This marked the beginning of co-created storytelling as healing practice.

This book became a collective act of healing and a reminder that creativity is medicine.

🌍 THE TURNING POINT

A world in transition

In the aftermath of the pandemic:

  • children lost safety, play and peer connection
  • parents became teachers overnight
  • grief, separation and overwhelm became part of daily life
  • screens replaced embodied connection

At the same time, neurodivergent needs surfaced with urgency —
often without adequate understanding, training or resources.

Too many children felt:

misunderstood • silenced • burnt out • disconnected

Too many parents felt:

unseen • judged • exhausted • alone

✨ Something new was needed.

🌈 THE NEW CLARION CALL

A Call from the Hearth

This is a call to:

  • parents who feel “this ends with me”
  • carers of sensitive or neurodivergent children
  • educators ready to lead with heart

A call to choose:
connection over control
compassion over shame
presence over perfection

✨ A call to protect imagination and emotional safety.

Where the two books belong in the HappyNEST ecosystem

Think of the HappyNEST as a tree.

Roots = Ancient wisdom, lived experience, education of heart + mind
Trunk = You, your voice, your stewardship, your clarion calls
Branches = Projects, books, broadcasts, circles
Fruits = What families and future generations receive

The books are not “products”. They are initiations along the way.

"A different language is a different vision of life"
Federico Fellini

Colour Mirrors is a gentle self-reflection system.

It uses colour as a language of the emotions and the soul.

Each colour reflects different emotional states, strengths, challenges, and life themes, helping us understand what is alive in us right now and what is asking for care, balance, or expression.

Rather than telling us who we should be, Colour Mirrors invites us to notice who we are becoming, using colour as a mirror rather than a label.

It supports self-awareness, emotional literacy, and compassionate choice-making, especially during times of change, transition, or healing.

Colour Mirrors uses colour as a mirror for the heart, revealing what is ready to
be seen, felt, and gently transformed.

For children and families

Colours help feelings speak.
Colour Mirrors gives children and adults a shared, non-threatening way to talk about emotions, needs, and
inner experiences without pressure or judgement.

Where words feel too heavy, colour tells the truth softly.

Essential Oils help the body feel safe enough for the heart to open.

Essential oils as emotional language

At The HappyNEST, essential oils are not used to fix or force change.
They are used as aroma messengers.
Essential oils speak directly to the limbic system, the part of the brain that holds memory, emotion, safety, and belonging.
This means their influence is felt before it is understood, bypassing logic and reaching the places where words often cannot.
Rather than asking us to think differently, they invite us to feel differently.

How they work,
gently explained

When we inhale an essential oil, its aroma sends a signal to the brain that can:
soothe the nervous system
awaken forgotten feelings
bring buried emotions to the surface or
create a sense of grounding, safety, or clarity
Each oil carries its own emotional tone.
Some calm. Some open the heart.
Some support courage, grief, joy, or rest.
The body responds intuitively.
There is no right or wrong reaction.

The HappyNEST philosophy

Essential oils do not tell us what to feel. They invite us to notice what we are feeling. They create a bridge between the body and the heart, offering a safe sensory entry point for those who may find talking, analysing, or “doing the work” overwhelming.
This makes them especially supportive for:

  • sensitive souls
  • neurodivergent children and adults
  • people carrying trauma
  • those beginning their inward journey

For children and families

For children, essential oils act like emotional companions. A scent can become a signal for calm, bedtime, focus, comfort, or reassurance. They help children build emotional literacy through the senses, long before they have the words.

“We work with doTERRA essential oils for their ethos, quality, and science-led approach to wellness.”

If aroma is the language of emotion,
then Human Design is the language of inner wiring. 🌈🧭

Human Design is a gentle map of
how your energy works.

It shows how you’re designed to make decisions, use your energy, relate to others, and move through life with less resistance and more ease.

It’s not about fixing yourself.
It’s about remembering yourself.

Human Design weaves together ancient wisdom and modern science to offer a practical insight into:

  • how you’re meant to respond to life
  • what drains you and what nourishes you
  • how to honour your natural rhythm rather than forcing yourself to fit expectations

At The HappyNEST, Human Design is used as a permission slip.

A way to say: you’re not broken, you’re built differently.

Just as scent bypasses the mind and speaks directly to the heart,
Human Design bypasses comparison and speaks directly to your truth,
helping you live, parent, work, and relate in ways that feel aligned, kind, and sustainable.

The RAINBOW Bears:
gentle emotional companions

If Human Design is the map, then the RAINBOW Bears are the companions who walk the path with you. 🧸🌈

The RAINBOW Bears help feelings find colour, language, and kindness.

Each bear represents one colour and core feelings from the RAINBOW Arc of The HappyNEST, helping children and adults recognise, name, and befriend their inner world.

They offer a soft, playful way to explore big feelings like belonging, safety, courage, balance, and joy, without needing to explain, fix, or rush anything.

Through story, colour, imagination, and presence, the RAINBOW Bears help emotions feel safe to be felt, shared, and understood.

They’re a gentle bridge between emotions and expression, supporting emotional literacy, self-regulation, and connection.

The RAINBOW Bears are little guardians of the heart, teaching us that every feeling belongs.

They help the heart feel seen,

the body feel safe and
the inner child feel held.
