How we connect by Human Design
What is Relationship Chart?
Not only can human design guide you into alignment to your best life it is also a powerful tool when looking at relationships.
When our auras combine with another’s, each person will experience something new as well as creating a third energy. Human Design can provide a detailed chart of that relationship energy, giving great insights into the strengths of that relationship as well as areas that may need work.
A “relationship” chart literally combines two personal Human Design bodygraph charts into one integrated composite chart.
This composite chart allows the trained Human Design professional to explore two important aspects:
* the specific dynamics between the two people
* the unique blueprint that gets created by the relationship
As we interact, our individual energies create something new and different altogether, a quantum transformation.
Over the last year I have been looking deeper into the type of connections and contemplating – what if we consciously use these connection energies to leverage our family or client relationships and businesses?
Let’s just cover the basics. We can have 5 types of connections – they create a unique definition and connect gates and channels in our chart, activating new centers and their frequencies.
Below is an example of a connection
Two colours indicate two separate people’s channels (blue and yellow.) In this specific case, the connection activates channels that, in turn, define all nine centres in the chart. This creates a theme 9-0, “Nowhere To Go,” which I will discuss later in this article.
You can also see that channels are grouped into four different sections: Compromise, Dominance, Companionship (Friendship), and Electromagnetic.
Connection themes: – What energy centres are defined and what type of definition is present.
Attraction Channels:- It is human nature to be attracted to individuals that have the gates that complete your channels. When these two gates come together we feel a completeness to that energy
Friendship Channels:- These occur when both people have the same defined channel. Friendship channels place people on the same page and feel comfortable and stable.
Dominance Channels:- These are the channels that one person has defined and the other has neither gate that make that channel. These channels are a great opportunity for two people to learn from each other as the channels energy is consistently there.
Compromise Channels :- These occur when one person in the relationship has the entire channel defined and the other person only has one of the gates defined in that channel. These are the trickiest to navigate with both parties having to acknowledge that some give and take with be required when dealing with the energy of that channel.
What are Gates, Channels and Centres in Human Design
In Human Design, the 64 gates are energetic themes derived from the I Ching’s 64 hexagrams. These gates represent distinct archetypal energies or traits that influence how we think, feel, and interact with the world.
They are mapped onto the Human Design chart, corresponding to specific energy centers and pathways called channels.
Defined vs. Undefined Gates:
Defined Gates: Highlight consistent, fixed energies you express in your life. They show traits or skills you can rely on as a stable part of your personality and actions. Represented by coloured-in circles.
Undefined Gates: Represent energies you absorb and amplify from your environment and others. They are areas of potential wisdom and adaptability but can also show conditioning or external influence. Represented by white circles.
How Gates Function:
Activation: Each gate is either dormant or active, depending on planetary placements at the time of your birth. An active gate might reveal specific patterns in your thinking, feeling, or behaviour.
Channels and Centres: When two gates connect, they form a channel, uniting two energy centres and influencing how energy flows within your design. Individual gates, even without forming channels, still have a potent standalone impact.
